<span class="bodybold"> <a href="http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/t/tseliot131180.html">T. S. Eliot</a> </span> <br />
<div style="background-color: transparent; border: medium none; color: black; overflow: hidden; text-align: left; text-decoration: none;"><br />
</div><div style="background-color: transparent; border: medium none; color: black; overflow: hidden; text-align: left; text-decoration: none;"><span class="body">I was reading the dictionary. I thought it was a poem about everything.</span> <br />
<span class="bodybold"> <a href="http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/s/stevenwrig100330.html">Steven Wright</a> </span> <br />
<div style="background-color: transparent; border: medium none; color: black; overflow: hidden; text-align: left; text-decoration: none;"><br />
</div><div style="background-color: transparent; border: medium none; color: black; overflow: hidden; text-align: left; text-decoration: none;"><a href="http://robinheyden.files.wordpress.com/2011/02/mirror.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="http://robinheyden.files.wordpress.com/2011/02/mirror.jpg" width="200" /></a>I like writing poetry, because when I'm done, I can look at it and think, "Hey, I accomplished something meaningful." I also think that it could be meaningful to someone else, that they can see a deeper message, even if I hadn't meant to place one in it. I like reading poems too, I like to try to decipher what it could mean. To try to figure out how the poet was feeling at the time he or she wrote it, if they meant anything by it, or were just putting random words on a page. Poetry is a great thing because it can brighten people's days or give you a deeper sense of purpose. I think poetry is a great way to release emotions, or give you something to think about. Anything could be poetry, even this paragraph I'm writing. You can see the beauty in so many things, if you just look hard enough.</div></div>Erikahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00329286707369913950noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4058775072956480950.post-1591441739203143522011-04-08T21:50:00.000-07:002011-04-17T15:30:25.430-07:00Where I'm From<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhE8x4VhDGkWdxCPZh9NjspIz0hpa_uZXzHrOXQxO2OPzs_2QgiepX0vL0rHQLRli2Dg9t2GYgLpeEJjYBaIybau2q4fGbc5IyKBzC7rF7gW8gVt8stkAIaGgkB4UA9AMOdQjrSva9CWak/s1600/pokemon.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhE8x4VhDGkWdxCPZh9NjspIz0hpa_uZXzHrOXQxO2OPzs_2QgiepX0vL0rHQLRli2Dg9t2GYgLpeEJjYBaIybau2q4fGbc5IyKBzC7rF7gW8gVt8stkAIaGgkB4UA9AMOdQjrSva9CWak/s1600/pokemon.jpg" /></a>I am from silly cat sweaters, from Barbies, and Pokemon.<br />
<br />
I am from the house on the corner with <br />
two trees in the front,<br />
and a pool in the back.<br />

<br />
I am from the butterfly bush, daffodils, musical grass, <br />
apple tree surrounded with bees, <br />
the flower that hosts my name, <br />
and worms found on the driveway after the rain has stopped.<br />
<br />
I am from cleaning your boots for Sankt Nikolaus<br />
and I'm from people short in stature, <br />
from Charlotte and David,<br />
and Wirtzfeld, and Strome.<br />
<br />
I am from the yearly trips to Florida,<br />
and the painfully shared memories of stepping on run away lego pieces.<br />
From "Look, you made a hole in the wall" to make us stop crying about running into something <br />
and "I know you are but what am I?"<br />
<br />
<br />
I am from Roman Catholic, and was baptized Lutheran, but never go to church.<br />

I'm from Goderich, Ontario, and Germany,<br />
buttered bread with chocolate sprinkles <br />
and amazing homemade birthday cakes.<br />
<br />
From the time my little brother actually did make a hole in the wall <br />
and didn't believe my mom when she told him.<br />
The way he laughed and cried at the circular crack in the drywall.<br />
The way my dad panicked at my brothers safety<br />
and after realizing he's fine, he panicked at the fresh hole in the wall.<br />
<br />
I am from the boxes of photographs lost in my house,<br />
only to be found again and spend hours over,<br />
looking and laughing at the wonderful things<br />
that happened when I was younger.Erikahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00329286707369913950noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4058775072956480950.post-39709702850316690002011-04-07T19:46:00.000-07:002011-04-07T19:46:08.101-07:00Antonym Of MeI have stopped<br />

The glass is half full<br />
Do you see it half empty?<br />
