Summer :) 2011

Leaves tumble and do a dance around a new forgotten tree.

The birds prance and sing a song, while air is filled with buzzing bees.

All of these sights and sounds the world shows your mind,

Remind you that summer's here and winter will soon be left behind.

All is quiet
The room screams for silence
For, no sound is being made here
Found sound

Quotes and What Poetry means

Genuine poetry can communicate before it is understood.
T. S. Eliot

I was reading the dictionary. I thought it was a poem about everything.
Steven Wright

I like writing poetry, because when I'm done, I can look at it and think, "Hey, I accomplished something meaningful." I also think that it could be meaningful to someone else, that they can see a deeper message, even if I hadn't meant to place one in it. I like reading poems too, I like to try to decipher what it could mean. To try to figure out how the poet was feeling at the time he or she wrote it, if they meant anything by it, or were just putting random words on a page. Poetry is a great thing because it can brighten people's days or give you a deeper sense of purpose. I think poetry is a great way to release emotions, or give you something to think about. Anything could be poetry, even this paragraph I'm writing. You can see the beauty in so many things, if you just look hard enough.

Where I'm From

I am from silly cat sweaters, from Barbies, and Pokemon.

I am from the house on the corner with
two trees in the front,
and a pool in the back.

I am from the butterfly bush, daffodils, musical grass,
apple tree surrounded with bees,
the flower that hosts my name,
and worms found on the driveway after the rain has stopped.

I am from cleaning your boots for Sankt Nikolaus
and I'm from people short in stature,
from Charlotte and David,
and Wirtzfeld, and Strome.

I am from the yearly trips to Florida,
and the painfully shared memories of stepping on run away lego pieces.
From "Look, you made a hole in the wall" to make us stop crying about running into something
and "I know you are but what am I?"

I am from Roman Catholic, and was baptized Lutheran, but never go to church.

I'm from Goderich, Ontario, and Germany,
buttered bread with chocolate sprinkles
and amazing homemade birthday cakes.

From the time my little brother actually did make a hole in the wall
and didn't believe my mom when she told him.
The way he laughed and cried at the circular crack in the drywall.
The way my dad panicked at my brothers safety
and after realizing he's fine, he panicked at the fresh hole in the wall.

I am from the boxes of photographs lost in my house,
only to be found again and spend hours over,
looking and laughing at the wonderful things
that happened when I was younger.

Antonym Of Me

I have stopped
caring
what you
think of me,

I am myself,
myself is who
I'll always
be.

Forgive me,
what's 'cool' can not
make me
conform to society

俳句

Is money that great?
that you fill the world with hate
look at what you've done.

The glass is half full
Do you see it half empty?
Envision the best

Smile if you're down
It will help bring you back up
Show them all your strength.

Push through all the hate
You are beautiful and great
You are in control

Rhymes are the future
To all life's pain and suffers
Write one and you'll see

Greatness is inside.
Even those you do not know
Tell the ones you meet

Walls can be built up
Windows can be placed inside
Open the curtains
